If you are writing a book, should you focus on the plot or the characters? Is there anyway to strike that balance?

The Problem with Superman

This episode looks at why Superman is such a difficult character to make write. Somehow I keep up my trend of getting mad at time travel in most episodes.

We hit record and rambled and actually ended up having a really good conversation. We ended up talking about the lack of diversity in comics, why comics should emphasize digital sales, Netflix's Marvel's The Defenders (SPOILERS AHOY!), more fanfiction theories, Powergirl's boob window, a touch of homoeroticism (starting to see a recurring theme here...), and more random stuff.

We didn't have a plan going in, so let us know what you think and if you want more like this!

Nikkie and Super Hubs from MWB are back and we're talking about adaptations, the 2017 version of IT, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, the Super Mario Bros. movie, and maybe Legos. It's a rambling good time with:

  • Some spoilers for IT
  • Why a mini-series may be better than a movie in most cases
  • Theories about Patrick Stewart's true motives
  • And more!

Nicole and Lawrence from the blog MarriedwithBookshelves join to discuss Marvel's Civil War, in the comics and the movies. Can Captain America justify starting a Civil War? Can Iron Man save the world? Will Spider-man ever get health insurance?
